Dr Jong Sze Chin is a rehabilitation medicine physician at Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway MediCentre, Singapore.
Besides rehabilitation medicine, her other specialty interests include sports medicine, musculoskeletal-related diseases and cancer rehabilitation. She provides rehabilitation care for patients with a wide spectrum of conditions including stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, musculoskeletal disorders, sports-related injuries and cancer-related impairments.
Her clinical interests include non-invasive and minimally invasive treatments such as platelet-rich plasma therapy, prolotherapy, dry needling, extracorporeal shockwave therapy and intrathecal baclofen pump management.
Dr Jong was a rehabilitation medicine consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH), Alexandra Hospital, National University Cancer Institute, Singapore and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
She graduated from the National University of Malaysia and obtained her membership of the Royal College of Physicians, UK. She also holds a graduate diploma in sports medicine. At NUH, she was a clinical lead for Intrathecal Baclofen Pump service.
Dr Jong is an adjunct assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and a clinical teacher at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
Her research interests include stroke rehabilitation, cancer survivorship and neuroimmunology, with publications and presentations at international conferences.
Currently, she is the Singapore National Para Swimming medical classifier. She is also the vice-chair of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine – World Youth Taskforce and Singapore Ambassador.
Dr Jong is a recipient of the COVID-19 Resilience Medal.
